Jason takes Julie for a spin

In response to a few people's questions, we have a few answers...

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Leaders? You mean it's just for the guys?

Aside from the fact that girls can lead, we're talking about Leaders, as in leadership, regardless of which roles you like best when you dance.
  2. So this is a Lindy Hop event?

Did we say Lindy? It's not just about Lindy Hop. We do think Lindy Leaders sounds cool, and Lindy Hop is the swing dance that seems to tie it all together. But it's not just about Lindy--it's about all the swing, jazz and blues dances, from Black Bottom to Balboa and Shag to West Coast Swing.
  3. Looks great, but I only want to do the DJing/Teaching/etc. part

Perfect - you're who this event is for! This will be easier to understand when we have the schedule up, but we're organizing the weekend into tracks. Since we have two rooms going at all times, and since we'll be holding sessions all day (from 9am-5pm!!), you'll be able to focus on the track that interests you most. At the same time, nobody is required to stay within a single track.
  4. It's so awesome... but I want to take everything!

It's just not possible! Lindy Leaders is especially designed to be attended as a group. The idea is that several people from your organization participate--a few DJs, a few teachers, and some of the main (or up-and-coming) organizers, not to mention dancers who want to work on performance and competition. By working together, you can absorb the things that are most meaningful to you and bring them back to your scene.
